Asymmetrical Allocations:  The Strategy Behind CFP Level 2

Welcome to the CFP Level 2 Portfolio—designed around the principle of *asymmetrical investing*, a strategy commonly used by hedge funds and venture capitalists.

I will be adding to this portfolio periodically as I find positions.  Many of these positions I have owned for a while, so I will be adding to my current holdings and sharing that here.

Here’s how it works:

You invest the *same amount of capital* across multiple positions, knowing that *most will underperform, stall, or even fail*. That’s expected. But the power of this approach lies in the outliers—the small percentage (often 10% or less) that *go parabolic* and deliver massive returns.

Those big winners more than make up for the losers—and then some.

#### Your Role in This Strategy:

* Equal-weight your investments** across a range of positions. For example, if you’re committing \$25, $50 or $200 per trade, aim to stick with that amount across the board.
* Stick to your preset amounts.** You can choose different investment tiers ($10, $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000, $2,500), but don’t randomly mix them or put too much money in one position. Only increase the size **if you have a strong conviction** in a particular position.
* Let the math work in your favor.** This strategy isn’t about trying to predict which coin will hit—it’s about giving each position a chance to prove itself, and letting the outliers pull the portfolio up.

Think of it like planting seeds. Some won’t sprout. A few will bloom. One or two will become redwoods.

That’s asymmetrical investing that many hedge funds and VC funds implement—and it’s the foundation of the CFP Level 2 portfolio strategy.
